UNB & SRC Committees

There are dozens of committees across all sectors of UNB which make decisions and create policies on all university and student matters. Students are mandated to be represented on committees for the university, usually expressed as a student representative sitting at the table.

There are also SRC committees which are exclusively composed of UNB Saint John students, below is a list of current SRC committees:

Governance Committee

The Governances Committee is an Ad-Hoc Committee that is composed of undergraduate students who provide advice and feedback on matters to the SRC President. Please select the President’s Advisory Committee box when completing the Committee Representative application form above to be considered for this committee.

Advocacy Committee

The SRC’s Advocacy Committee is an Ad-Hoc Committee that is composed of students who have a keen interests in student issues and work with the Vice-President External on advancing our advocacy work at the university, municipal, provincial and federal level. To be considered for this committee please select the Advocacy Committee box on the Committee Representative application form above.

Policy Committee

The SRC’s Policy Committee is an Ad-Hoc Committee that is composed of students who have a keen interest in making the university environment more accommodating and reflective of the existing needs of students. In this committee, students work with the Vice-President External to look over the existing policies present in the SRC’s Policy Manual which can be found here and to explore gaps wherein new policies can be put into effect.

Finance Committee

The SRC’s Finance Committee is a Standing Committee composed of undergraduate students, councilors and executives of the SRC and serve to redistribute unused or non-allocated funds and to advise the Vice-President Finance & Operations on budgetary matters. Events Committee

The SRC’s Events Committee is an Ad-Hoc Committee that is composed of students dedicated to improving student life on campus. Members of this committee help the Vice-President Student Life to plan, organize and execute events. This is a great way to get involved on campus and with the SRC! Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Committee

The SRC’s Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Committee is an Ad-Hoc Committee that is composed of members of the council and UNB Saint John students. This committee advises directly to the council and to the President to develop new EDI policies, make our organization more inclusive and set the direction of the SRC when it comes to EDI. The Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Committee is currently looking for new members who represent to vast diversity of students on our campus and you can apply by filling out the form above and checking off the EDI Committee box.

Shinerama Committee

The SRC’s Shinerama Committee is an Ad-Hoc Committee that is composed of students who have a passion for fundraising and raising awareness to cystic fibrosis. Shinerama is Canada’s largest post-secondary fundraiser in support of Cystic Fibrosis Canada. Over 20,000 student volunteers from 36 Canadian universities and colleges come together every year to make a difference in the lives of those battling cystic fibrosis.
